Mr Meade

The papers have reported a few cases of cholera in Hong Kong; paragraphs marked on p.810 and p.853 of the two copies of the London & China Telegraph, annexed; and for some time past, cases have been reported from Swatow, the nearest port to it.

Acknowledge & express hope that the measures taken will be successful in keeping off the disease, or at least in preventing the disease from becoming epidemic.

An outbreak of Asiatic Cholera in Hong Kong would be so terrible...
